A beautiful “Robin Engelman Life Celebration” was hosted by the Engelman family this past weekend for friends and family. Eleanor Engelman announced that Robin’s papers and historical materials are going to be housed at Northwestern University – wonderful news. Guests came from Hamburg Germany (the “official photographer” for the event, at Robin’s request), from Texas, from Newfoundland (Bill Brennan who has just completed his Masters in Conducting will be receiving Robin’s batons) and of course many from closer-to-home.Videos and slides celebrated Robin’s life adventures, and an open mic spurred a wide variety of stories from students, colleagues and family, some poignant, some hilarious – and some, both! Robin had a hand in planning the celebration, giving instructions that there should be an oyster bar, spectacular cheeses, his son’s famous pulled pork, and prosecco. So – thank you, Robin! You will be missed!
