CREATIVE MUSIC MAKING is a "how to" guide in creating free-form improvisational music on any combination of musical instruments to expand musicianship at any level of prior performance experience.

CREATIVE MUSIC MAKING provides a simple, practical pedagogy in free-form improvisation. There are virtually no existing books on this subject and the need for a practical method of improvisation has been expressed by musicians and music educators at all levels.

CREATIVE MUSIC MAKING is potentially for anyone who plays a musical instrument, regardless of the particular instrument or the level of prior musical experience.

William L. Cahn has presented CREATIVE MUSIC MAKING workshops in the USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, and The Netherlands. He has been a member of the NEXUS percussion group since its formation in 1971, performing on concerts, films, recordings, and broadcasts all over the world. He was also the principal percussionist in the Rochester (NY) Philharmonic Orchestra from 1968 to 1995.
