Ball State University - Erwin Mueller, host

March 19

Ah, Ball State and the incomparable Erwin Mueller. It was good to return to Emens Auditorium and the Sue Derexa Smith Memorial Concert after ten years and renew old acquaintances. Emens Auditorium is a huge hall with an expansive acoustic. Things sound good on stage and the soft end is impressive.

Bob gave a Xylophone workshop in the afternoon and we had a good turnout for the concert that night.

The next day Erwin provided instruments for us to rehearse while our truck made its way to our next stop, Indianapolis. We were rehearsing for an Easter weekend recording session in Walter Hall of the University of Toronto and new repertoire needed polishing. (Unfortunately, we didn't get any photos from this visit.) After lunch with the Ball State percussion students, we took off for the Bands of America Convention in Indianapolis.
